UWA+: bridging Web systems design and Business process modeling

چکیده
The design of Web-enabled services in complex organizations (banks, government, utilities and, generally, service organizations) is a hard task today. It requires to deal simultaneously with business processes and rich hypermedia communication patterns, under multiple constraints (legal, technical, ...). Models and methodologies for the design of Web systems and for the design of business processes are focused on a single aspect, failing in correlating the two. We propose UWA+, a framework which extends a methodology for modeling Web applications (UWA) with concepts of business process design. UWA+ is able to bridge the gap between the business process modelers and the Web system designers. In this paper we describe UWA+ and show an application example.

Web applications design recovery and evolution with RE-UWA
This paper presents a semi-automatic approach for the recovery and evolution of the design of existing Web applications. The proposed approach, structured in two main phases, is based on the Ubiquitous Web Applications (UWA) design framework, a methodology based on a set of models and tools, for the usercentered design of multi-channels context-aware Web applications. In the first phase a repre...
متن کاملDesign Recovery of Web Application Transactions
Modern Web sites provide applications that are increasingly built to support the execution of business processes. In such a transaction-oriented Web site, the user executes a series of activities in order to carry out a specific task (e.g., purchase an airplane ticket). The manner in which the activities can be executed is a consequence of the transaction design. Unfortunately, many Web sites a...
متن کاملA comprehensive design model for integrating business processes in web applications
Web applications have evolved from simple read-only websites to complex dataand operation-intensive systems. The main goal of this kind of application is to provide the users with services that assist them in carrying out activities according to a given set of business rules. The addition of transactions to modern web applications poses new challenges, such as managing the interplay between bus...
متن کاملTowards integration of business processes and semantic web services
Business processes are modeled as syntax based compositions of multiple services to perform tasks that a single Web service alone can not perform. When these processes are exported as services they have same syntactical limitations as traditional WSDL services resulting in clampdown for their dynamic discovery, invocation and composition by other semantic enabled systems. متن کاملA Semi-Automated Approach to Redesign Web Applications with UWA
This paper presents a process and a set of supporting tools for the semi-automatic redesign of web applications, based on the Ubiquitous Web Applications (UWA) design methodology. The process starts by analyzing the client side HTML pages of the legacy web application and applies clone detection and clustering techniques to abstract from them a UWA conceptual model of the application. The recov...
